Translate XMLs with DeepL

Automate complex and laborious manual translation processes using AI from DeepL via a php API.

One of our customers uses FirstSpirit as their CMS. The content concerns country pages all over the world, which leads to complex translation processes.

The previous procedure was as follows:

  1. Export of an XML with all content of a complete website. In some cases, this is tens of thousands of pieces of content.
  2. Manual translation of this XML by a translation agency (partly directly in the XML)
  3. Re-import of the translation into FirstSpirit

This procedure had some serious disadvantages.

For example, it is very error-prone to manually edit a nested XML with many 10,000 lines. Often a control character was accidentally removed or duplicated. This meant that a re-import was no longer possible and the structure had to be adapted manually.

We have developed a solution that offers the following functions:

  • Import of an XML with the contents in any source language.
  • Automatic translation of all contents into any target language at the push of a button
  • Possibility to manually revise the translated content in a clear web frontend and to adapt it if necessary
  • Export of translations as XML
  • Re-import of the XML into FirstSpirit

This means that the translation of complex pages no longer takes several weeks, as was previously the case, but is completed in a few minutes. The web interface makes subsequent checking and correction quick and easy.
